Diwali Camp

We are organising a 5-day football coaching camp from 14th October to 18th October.

Add a special flavour to your Diwali celebrations by participating in the camp, where you will learn through fun. Players will learn and enhance the skills of dribbling, turning, passing, shooting, etc., which are necessarily important when playing football. The camp will help players make new friends, build team spirit and intensify their sense of discipline which will transfer to all other areas of their life.

First win for India U-16 in AFC Qualifiers

The U-16 team is in Nepal competing for a spot in the AFC U16 Championship to be held in 2018. The team has been drawn in Group D alongside Iraq, Palestine, and Nepal.

India played the first match of the qualifiers today and convincingly won 3-0. The first goal came by way of a free-kick from Givson Moirangthem 6 minutes into the second half. Bekey Oram headed in the second, in the 72nd minute and the captain Vikram Pratap settled the match by slotting past the Palestinian goalkeeper with 11 minutes remaining on the clock.

In the same group, the other fixture ended with champions Iraq winning by a one-goal margin against qualifiers host Nepal.

India’s win will give the lads a significant boost of confidence as only the winner of the group is assured of a place in the finals to be played in Malaysia. The teams next fixture, against Nepal, is on 22nd September and we wish them luck for the same.

India U-17 team captain chosen

Amarjit Singh Kiyam was unanimously chosen as captain of the team by his teammates in a secret ballot. A captain is one who has the capability to ensure that team objectives are achieved through maximum effort. Everyone in the team looks to the captain for guidance when faced with challenging situations personally or on the field, and having been chosen collectively the decision has potential to be extremely beneficial for the team. Furthermore, he was also the one the coach, Luís Norton de Matos wanted. Jitendra Singh has been selected as the vice-captain and will lead the team in Amarjit’s absence.
